Job Title

Senior Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer/Lead

Role Summary

Design and optimize analog and mixed-signal IC blocks and subsystems at transistor and system level. Lead projects and mentor teams of analog engineers through design, layout review, lab characterization and production test development.

Work includes circuit architecture, transistor-level implementation, custom layout oversight, package and PCB interface definition, lab characterization and coordination with ATE and package/layout engineers.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience expectation: experienced individual contributor or lead; see Education Requirements for degree/year combinations.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design and optimize analog blocks (amplifiers, comparators, references, oscillators, LDOs, etc.) to meet noise, linearity, power and cost targets.
  • Develop transistor-level circuit solutions and behavioral models; run simulations and trade studies.
  • Lead and coordinate project workstreams with other analog engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee or create custom physical layout and perform verification/extraction.
  • Define internal chip interfaces and collaborate on package pinout and package routing reviews.
  • Design or review PC test board schematics and characterize IC performance in the lab using test equipment.
  • Debug performance issues and work with ATE teams to develop production tests.
  • Document designs, test procedures and measured performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Strong analog design skills including high-speed amplifiers (up to hundreds of MHz) and high-speed comparators.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMOS device behavior and analog/RF layout techniques.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation and verification tools (including RF-capable simulators).
  • System-level analysis skills for noise, linearity and power optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with transistor-level design and layout tools (Cadence analog/layout environment such as Virtuoso/Analog Artist) and verification/extraction flows.
  • Experience with lab characterization, debugging and working with ATE teams for production test development.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • RF design experience.
  • Experience with analog/mixed-signal IP (ADCs, DACs, references, oscillators, LDOs) and switched power supplies.
  • Familiarity with system-level tools (e.g., MATLAB) and broader CAD toolchains.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of related experience; or Master's degree plus 6+ years; or PhD plus 3+ years. Post-graduate coursework may be desirable. (Degrees or equivalent related experience expected.)
