Job Title
Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer/Lead
Role Summary
Design and optimize analog and mixed-signal blocks, circuits and subsystems for high-performance integrated circuits. Lead and coordinate small teams of analog engineers through design, layout, characterization, test development and documentation.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical experience guidance: approximately 8+ years (Bachelor's), 6+ years (Master's), or 3+ years (PhD) in related analog/mixed-signal design roles.
Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end analog/mixed-signal circuit development and project leadership.
- Develop transistor-level and behavioral models for analog blocks and subsystems; implement and optimize circuit architectures for noise, distortion, power, and cost targets.
- Lead design reviews and coordinate work across analog, digital, package and layout teams.
- Oversee or produce custom physical layout and ensure correct extraction and verification flows.
- Specify internal chip interfaces and review package pinout and routing with package/layout engineers.
- Design or review PC test-board schematics for IC characterization; perform lab measurements and debug circuit performance.
- Work with ATE and test engineers to develop production tests and support test qualification.
- Document circuit operation, performance, and test results.
Requirements
Key technical skills and required competencies. (Education and years-of-experience are summarized separately in Education Requirements.)
- Proven analog design experience including high-speed amplifiers (up to hundreds of MHz) and high-speed comparators.
- In-depth knowledge of CMOS device behavior and analog layout techniques.
- Proficiency with simulation techniques and tools (transistor-level and RF-capable simulators).
- System-level analysis skills for noise, linearity and power optimization.
- Hands-on experience with transistor-level design and Cadence Analog/Artist flows; layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso; verification and extraction flows.
- Experience with experimental verification and supporting ATE/test development.
- Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and lead design efforts.
-
Nice-to-have: RF design experience; knowledge of analog/mixed-signal IP (ADCs, DACs, references, oscillators, LDOs); switched power-supply experience; familiarity with MATLAB or system-level design tools.
Education Requirements
Degree guidance provided: Bachelor's degree plus ~8+ years related experience; or Master's degree plus ~6+ years; or PhD plus ~3+ years. Post-graduate coursework may be desirable. The posting refers to "related experience" but does not specify fields of study.
