Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
SynopsysJob Title
Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of analog and mixed-signal circuits, blocks, and subsystems from architecture through tape-out, silicon bring-up, and production. Work cross-functionally with layout, digital, validation, and product teams to ensure designs meet performance, power, area, and manufacturability targets.
This role emphasizes hands-on transistor-level design, circuit simulation, lab characterization, and technical leadership to raise quality across projects.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting lists a minimum of 2β3 years of hands-on analog and/or mixed-signal IC design experience while assigning senior-level responsibilities and technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include full lifecycle analog/mixed-signal design and silicon delivery:
- Lead architecture, circuit design, simulation, and optimization for analog/mixed-signal blocks.
- Perform transistor-level simulation and verification using SPICE/Spectre or equivalent tools.
- Own tape-out activities, silicon bring-up, lab characterization, and on-silicon debug.
- Partner with layout engineers to ensure manufacturability and robustness of the design intent.
- Define and execute validation plans that verify product-level requirements.
- Review specs, schematics, and lab results; drive technical design reviews and issue resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Collaborate with system, digital, validation, and product teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
- Drive improvements in design methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
Concise split of must-have and nice-to-have qualifications (degree details are listed under Education Requirements below):
- Must-have: Minimum 2β3 years of hands-on analog and/or mixed-signal IC design experience.
- Must-have: Deep understanding of transistor-level circuit design and analysis; able to interpret schematics and simulation results.
- Must-have: Proficiency with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE, Spectre, or equivalent.
- Must-have: Practical experience with silicon debug, characterization, and using lab equipment to validate designs.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed interfaces, data converters, regulators, bandgap references, power management, or sensors.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with deep submicron CMOS processes and manufacturability considerations.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, USB, and other high-speed serial links.
- Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI tools to circuit design and verification workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required (as stated in the posting).
