Senior Analog IC Designer

Role Summary

Design and deliver analog and mixed-signal IP for microcontroller (MCU) products, including ADCs, DACs, oscillators, PLLs, references, LDOs, DC-DC, amplifiers and filters. The role covers architecture, circuit design, simulation, layout reviews, verification support and productization activities.

NXP's Catania team focuses on high-performance MCUs for AI at the edge; the role contributes to cross-discipline product development (analog, digital, verification, DfT, physical design).

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of product development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on design work plus leadership in IP development and productization:

• Define circuit architectures and detailed analog/mixed-signal designs to meet product specifications.
• Perform behavioral and transistor-level simulation and ensure designs meet specifications in silicon.
• Own implementation activities: implementation, simulation, layout review and validation of analog IP or subsystem IP.
• Guide and review layout implementation and post-layout verification to ensure requirement compliance.
• Support verification of circuits in sub-systems and systems and participate in design reviews.
• Document designs, define integration requirements and support productization (characterization, production test, life testing).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.

• 5+ years of product development experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
• Practical experience with one or more IP areas: ADC, DAC, PLL, oscillators, voltage references, LDO, DC-DC converters, amplifiers, filters.
• Strong skills in circuit simulation (behavioral and transistor-level) and practical silicon realization.
• Experience reviewing and guiding layout and post-layout verification.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Nice-to-have: experience creating and using behavioral models (AMS, DMS, MATLAB, SystemC or equivalents).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
