Senior Analog Designer (Power Management)
Role Summary
Lead the architecture, design, and development of Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC) from specification through silicon bring-up and mass production. Serve as the technical lead within the analog/mixed-signal design team and collaborate with packaging, process, test, and system teams to optimize power density, efficiency, and manufacturability.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of experience in power management IC or analog/mixed-signal design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include end-to-end product ownership, transistor- to system-level design, verification, and production support:
- Define product specifications, select architectures and process nodes for new PMIC families.
- Design and implement critical circuit blocks from transistor level to system level, ensuring robustness across PVT corners and manufacturing.
- Develop verification strategies, simulation plans, and corner-case analyses to ensure first-pass silicon success.
- Direct layout implementation with emphasis on matching, symmetry, and parasitic control.
- Lead post-silicon bring-up, characterization, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with Test, Packaging, Process, and Product teams to develop production test plans and drive yield improvements.
- Propose novel circuit ideas, contribute to IP creation and patent filings.
- Author technical documentation (application notes, guidelines, datasheets) and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Power Management IC design (analog/mixed-signal) with multiple chips taken to high-volume production.
- Deep understanding of analog/mixed-signal IC design, semiconductor physics, and IC design flows.
- Expert knowledge of power topologies, control schemes, stability analysis, and compensation techniques.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex silicon issues (stability, noise, EMI, thermal).
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Expert proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for circuit design and verification; scripting for automation preferred.
Education Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Microelectronics.
