Senior Analog Designer
NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Senior Analog Designer
Role Summary
Lead the architectural definition, transistor-level design, verification and delivery of complex analog and mixed-signal circuits for next-generation semiconductor products. Work within an analog/mixed-signal design team in Toulouse and coordinate with system, digital, layout and test engineers to take designs from concept to silicon.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum of 8 years' experience in analog IC design with responsibility for complex designs and tape-outs.
Responsibilities
Deliver and verify high-performance analog and mixed-signal blocks and support successful silicon bring-up.
- Define architecture, perform transistor-level design and run circuit simulations for ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, regulators, PLLs and other analog blocks.
- Supervise layout and perform post-layout verification and characterization to meet performance, power and area targets.
- Collaborate with system architects, digital, layout and test teams to ensure integration and product readiness.
- Conduct design reviews, root-cause analyses for silicon issues, and improve design methodologies.
- Mentor junior analog designers and support technical skill development within the team.
- Prepare specifications, test plans and characterization reports.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Minimum 8 years of analog IC design experience with multiple successful tape-outs in advanced CMOS processes.
- Expertise in analog building blocks: op-amps, bandgap references, LDOs, oscillators, data converters.
- Proficiency with EDA and simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Hspice, AMS simulation.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, process variations, and layout considerations.
- Demonstrated debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills at transistor and circuit level.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
- Fluency in English; French language skills are a plus.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience with characterization and silicon bring-up workflows.
- Experience mentoring and leading small design teams.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (analog/mixed-signal, microelectronics, semiconductor engineering). Not specified if equivalent practical experience will be accepted.
