Senior Analog Design Engineer - HBM
Role Summary
Join the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) analog team to architect, design, simulate, and support silicon bring‑up of high‑performance analog and mixed‑signal circuits used in HBM PHYs and related infrastructure.
Primary focus: high‑speed I/O, clocking, power management, advanced‑node analog blocks, and delivering production silicon. Micron is an equal opportunity employer.
Experience Level
Senior level. Typical guidance: 5+ years of hands‑on analog or mixed‑signal IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver end‑to‑end analog designs for HBM PHYs and collaborate across teams to ensure manufacturable, robust silicon.
- Design and own high‑speed transmitters and receivers, SerDes‑related analog blocks, bias/reference, calibration circuits, and power regulation (LDOs, regulators).
- Architect and implement clock generation and distribution (PLLs, DLLs, CDRs).
- Perform pre‑layout and post‑layout simulations and statistical analyses (PVT, Monte Carlo, mismatch, aging).
- Drive layout‑aware optimizations for advanced nodes and review/sign off analog layouts.
- Define floorplanning, matching, shielding, and EM/IR requirements with layout engineers; ensure compliance.
- Establish analog design best practices, documentation, and reusable IP.
- Collaborate closely with analog, digital, system, packaging, and test teams during design and bring‑up.
Requirements
Required technical skills and demonstrable experience.
- Proficiency with SPICE‑based simulators (e.g., Spectre, HSPICE) and advanced‑node CMOS technologies.
- Strong understanding of device physics, analog layout techniques, PVT variation, and reliability concerns.
- Demonstrated ability to meet bandwidth, jitter, noise, power, and area targets in analog designs.
- Experience performing detailed pre‑layout/post‑layout simulations and statistical analyses.
- Proven track record of delivering silicon to production.
Nice-to-have:
- Deep knowledge of DRAM sub‑system architecture, specification, or operation.
- Experience with physical layout, circuit floor planning, and advanced node layout constraints.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Education Requirements
MS in Computer Engineering or a related field (stated in source).
