Job Title
Senior Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior contributor on the analog/mixed-signal IC design team responsible for architecture, circuit design, simulation, verification and silicon validation of high-performance analog blocks. Works across design, layout, test and system teams and provides technical leadership and mentoring.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 7 years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include design, verification and cross-team integration of analog functions and supporting silicon bring-up.
- Lead architecture, circuit design, simulation and verification of analog/mixed-signal blocks (ADCs, DACs, PLLs, LDOs, amplifiers, high-speed interfaces).
- Perform detailed transistor-level design using advanced CMOS processes and meet performance, power and area targets.
- Conduct extensive simulations across operating conditions and corners (Spectre, Eldo, AMS flows).
- Collaborate with digital, layout, test and system engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop test plans and support silicon validation and device characterization.
- Analyze and debug silicon issues and propose corrective actions.
- Mentor junior analog engineers, participate in design reviews and produce technical documentation.
- Contribute to patent disclosures and keep current with industry design methodologies and tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience and attributes.
- Minimum 7 years experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
- Proven track record designing, taping out and validating complex analog blocks in advanced CMOS processes (examples: 28nm, 16nm, 7nm).
- Expertise in analog circuit topologies and design techniques.
- Proficiency with industry EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, AMS simulation flows).
- Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and process variation impacts.
- Experience with layout supervision and post-layout verification (LVS, DRC, parasitic extraction).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills; able to work independently and across multi-site teams.
- Good communication and presentation skills in English; experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl) for automation and analysis.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
