Job Title
Senior Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead device design and development for high-efficiency semiconductor protection devices, from concept through production. Work cross-functionally with applications, packaging, process integration, reliability, and marketing teams to define specifications, design and simulate devices, validate prototypes, and transfer products to production.
Experience Level
Senior level β requires substantial experience; posting specifies at least 8 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle and collaboration with manufacturing and product teams.
- Lead all phases of new product development: market definition, design, simulation, validation, qualification, and production release.
- Design and develop high-performance semiconductor devices for protection applications (ESD to lightning-level threats).
- Perform device simulation, modeling, and characterization to optimize efficiency, thermal performance, and reliability.
- Conduct feasibility studies using device modeling and simulation tools (e.g., PSpice, Silvaco).
- Collaborate with process integration teams to define wafer process flow and Design of Experiments (DoE) for prototype trials.
- Work with package design engineers to propose package solutions and with reliability teams on failure analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Provide development support to subcontractors: yield analysis, transfer and set-up of new products, and technical troubleshooting.
- Communicate technical status and resolve issues with product, integration, equipment, and reliability engineers to meet production schedules.
- Optional: perform circuit-level simulation with PDK technology and conduct device/component-level feasibility studies.
Requirements
Key qualifications split into must-have and nice-to-have.
Must-have:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant semiconductor device design or development experience.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor device structures and device physics.
- Experience with device simulation, modeling, and characterization to improve performance and reliability.
- Proven ability to collaborate with process, packaging, and applications engineers across development and transfer to production.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and strong problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic engineering team environment.
Nice-to-have:
- 10+ years of experience in power semiconductor devices, TVS circuits, or advanced transistors.
- Experience with PSpice/Silvaco and CAD/simulation tools.
- Experience with silicon wafer process flows, DoE, device characterization data analysis, packaging technologies, and thermal management for high-power devices.
Education Requirements
Minimum and preferred: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
