Senior Alignment Process Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development and transfer of automated active-alignment (AA) coupling processes for optical devices and modules. Work with R&D, manufacturing, quality and equipment teams to improve yield, stability, cost and production efficiency for photonics packaging and fiber coupling products.
Experience Level
Senior. The role specifies more than 5 years of experience in optical communication or semiconductor process engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on process development, production transfer, and sustained manufacturing performance.
- Develop and optimize AA coupling technical solutions and process flows.
- Plan and execute process evaluations, DOE verification and failure analysis; provide technical risk assessments and improvement plans.
- Drive yield improvement, cost reduction, process stability and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
- Lead transfer of new products from R&D to mass production, ensuring performance, quality and yield targets are met.
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support during pilot runs and mass production.
- Establish process standards, SOPs, FMEA, SPC/CPK monitoring and related engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with RD, Automation, Equipment, Quality and Manufacturing to resolve technical issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team capability development.

- More than 5 years of experience in optical communications or semiconductor process engineering.
- Strong experience with AA coupling processes, optical alignment, active alignment and photonics packaging preferred.
- Familiarity with SPC, CPK, DOE, FMEA and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of optical devices/modules, fiber coupling, grating coupling and FA alignment principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, data analysis and project management skills.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Good English reading and writing skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics, Electronic Engineering, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
