Senior Algorithm Engineer — Image Modeling and Processing
Role Summary
Senior algorithm engineer in the RAPID reticle inspection division developing image-modeling and processing algorithms from concept through productization. The role works closely with systems, optics, sensors and software teams to integrate algorithms into inspection products and support field deployments.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Accountabilities include research, design, implementation and deployment of image-processing algorithms for inspection systems.
- Develop and prototype algorithms for image modeling, filtering, denoising, and reconstruction through to product-quality implementations.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and balance algorithmic performance with computational cost.
- Co-optimize algorithms with optics, sensors, and system software to achieve target system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence design decisions across subsystems.
- Support deployment and integration of algorithms at customer sites; occasional international travel.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Educational degree expectations are listed separately below.
- Substantial practical experience in image processing, machine learning, or deep learning applied to advanced imaging systems.
- Proven experience in C++ production software development and object-oriented design.
- Experience with modeling of imaging systems (optical or electron-beam) and translating models into algorithms.
- Experience with high-performance computing, including GPU-accelerated computing and optimization for runtime performance.
- Track record of moving prototypes to product-quality code and supporting system integration and field deployments.
- Strong data-analysis skills to evaluate algorithm behavior and trade-offs.
- Good collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Preferred: Master’s or Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Minimum-qualification structure provided: Doctorate plus 3 years related experience; Master’s plus 6 years; Bachelor’s plus 8 years.
