Senior AI Verification Chip Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Chip Design Methodologies team to design and deliver AI-driven verification capabilities that accelerate pre-silicon validation. You will define where AI and ML (including LLMs and reinforcement learning) add value, build AI components integrated into the verification toolchain, and lead adoption across verification teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects approximately 8+ years of hands-on pre-silicon verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on creating, integrating, and operationalizing AI-enhanced verification tooling and workflows.
- Design and deploy an AI-enabled verification environment to automate stimulus generation and drive coverage closure.
- Develop AI agents and ML models that integrate with verification flows to translate intent into testbenches.
- Build AI-based debugging assistants to analyze simulation failures, categorize bugs, and propose fixes.
- Research and apply advanced AI methods (e.g., reinforcement learning, LLMs) to mitigate state-space explosion in verification.
- Collaborate with design automation teams and EDA vendors to integrate end-to-end solutions from RTL through GDS.
- Provide technical leadership and training to teams on human-in-the-loop AI verification methodologies.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and experience required to perform the role successfully.
- 8+ years of hands-on pre-silicon verification experience, with strong knowledge of verification methodologies and RTL/simulation flows.
- Proven experience automating verification workflows and integrating tools into verification toolchains.
- Practical experience with ML/AI techniques or demonstrable ability to apply AI approaches to engineering problems.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams and external EDA partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and train peers on new methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
