Senior AI Software Program Manager

Role Summary

The AI Software Program Manager is part of the Central PMO within Technology Planning and Edge Solutions (TPE) and leads scoping, planning and execution of AI/ML software deliverables across SoC platforms and programs. The role partners with product and engineering teams to align priorities, schedules and dependencies across multiple technology teams.

This is an office-based position in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Experience Level

Senior — the posting references 5–10 years of combined technical product development and program management experience in the SoC/embedded industry; minimum listings include 4+ years of program management and preferred 7+ years.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and drive execution of AI/ML software programs across multiple teams and platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop technical and program understanding to generate insights and influence stakeholders.
  • Drive program alignment and execution across multiple technologies and teams.
  • Scope work, prioritize requirements, manage interdependencies, and optimize schedules and staffing.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to establish and maintain the Plan of Record.
  • Establish execution discipline: risk management, mitigation plans, tracking, schedule trend analysis, and recovery actions.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting on program health, quality, and timelines.
  • Develop processes that integrate multiple plans, dependencies, and deliverables to streamline development cycles.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and drive consensus on schedules, plans, and deliverables.
  • Communicate complex information clearly across audiences; negotiate and align priorities.

Must-have

  • 4+ years of program management or related work experience (minimum listed); experience managing products through full development lifecycle and risk management.
  • Technical product development and program management experience in the SoC / embedded industry (posting references 5–10 years overall).
  • Strong technical understanding of AI/ML technologies and related software deliverables.
  • Practical knowledge of software development principles for SoC/embedded systems and experience with end-to-end product integration.
  • Stakeholder management and executive communication skills; ability to work independently with little supervision.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience interacting with senior leadership and working in large matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with program management tools and dashboards (Gantt charts, program metrics).

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred certification: PMP. (Education and certification items were removed from the Requirements section to avoid duplication.)
