QualcommJob Title
Senior AI Software Engineer, Sensors Software
Role Summary
Develop and integrate AI, signal processing, and machine-learning algorithms for embedded SoCs in the Sensors Software team. Work spans algorithm implementation, optimization, deployment on reference hardware and collaboration with development and test teams.
Experience Level
Senior. Minimum experience guidance: Bachelor's degree + 2+ years relevant ASIC/design/verification/integration experience, Master's + 1+ year, or PhD (see Education Requirements for details).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on implementing, validating, and optimizing embedded AI and signal-processing software and enabling its deployment on constrained hardware.
- Implement AI, sensor signal‑processing, and ML algorithms on embedded SoCs.
- Translate and optimize MATLAB/Python prototypes into production C/C++ code.
- Debug, verify, tune, and profile C code for performance, memory, and power tradeoffs.
- Develop and test on reference hardware platforms and support algorithm deployment across teams.
- Work with RTOS and multi‑threaded environments; ensure robust, documented software architecture and implementation flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with Python and MATLAB for algorithm development and prototyping.
- Experience implementing MATLAB/Python algorithms in C for constrained targets.
- Experience with RTOS, multi‑threaded programming, and low-level debugging/profiling.
- Embedded software development background with digital signal processing and ML algorithm implementation.
- Ability to balance performance, memory, power, and complexity constraints.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for design and implementation artifacts.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, fixed-point implementation and quantization, and working knowledge of accelerometers/gyroscopes/magnetometers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration or related work experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 1+ year of such experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
