Job Title

Semiconductor Test Strategy Expert (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Lead the global strategy for semiconductor test coverage and quality for automotive products. Serve as the technical authority during sourcing and RFQ decisions, drive supplier governance, and coordinate cross-functional integration of test standards across R&D, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

Work with regional and global teams and suppliers to prevent latent defects and ensure high reliability for next-generation vehicle architectures. Multiple European locations are listed; remote work may be accommodated.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 10+ years in the semiconductor industry in product/test engineering or quality, ideally within an automotive Tier‑1, IDM, or foundry environment.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining and enforcing test and quality standards, advising on sourcing, and resolving high-impact failures.

  • Define global standards for semiconductor test coverage and quality across product lines.
  • Integrate test standards and processes across R&D, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
  • Act as technical authority in selection and evaluation of SoCs, MCUs, ASICs, and power modules during RFQ.
  • Conduct deep-dive technical audits of supplier test methodologies, with emphasis on DFT and fault coverage.
  • Lead failure-analysis task forces and 8D problem-solving for critical semiconductor issues.
  • Drive implementation of advanced screening methods (e.g., Outlier Detection, Part Average Testing) to reduce latent defects.
  • Translate technical risks into business risks for executive stakeholders and negotiate corrective actions with suppliers.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills required to succeed in this role.

  • 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry in product/test engineering or quality, preferably in automotive Tier‑1, IDM, or foundry environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, Design for Test (DFT), and semiconductor failure mechanisms.
  • Proficiency with automotive quality and functional safety standards such as AEC‑Q, ISO 26262, and IATF 16949, and experience with statistical test analysis (e.g., SYL, SBL, PAT).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, challenge suppliers, and negotiate technical and commercial tradeoffs.
  • Experience driving cultural and technical change in large global organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical issues to business and executive audiences.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
