Job Title

Semiconductor Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and analyze digital and analog circuits for memory products. Work with cross-functional teams (Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, Marketing) and global design and verification groups to ensure manufacturability, reliability, cost targets and timely product delivery.

Contribute to circuit design, layout, parasitic modeling, validation, tape-out revisions, and floor-planning/placement/routing to support new memory/logic/analog product generations.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and collaboration to bring memory products from concept to manufacturable tape-out.

  • Design and analyze digital and analog circuits used in memory products.
  • Develop and validate parasitic models; support reticle experiments and tape-out revisions.
  • Oversee layout flow: floor-planning, placement, routing, and manufacturability checks.
  • Perform verification using industry-standard simulators and modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, Marketing, and CAD/standards teams to optimize cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market.
  • Drive design standardization and process improvements across groups.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools (compiled from the posting).

  • Hardware description languages: SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Programming and debugging in C/C++.
  • Scripting: TCL, Python, or Perl.
  • Digital design and VLSI/CMOS fundamentals.
  • Design validation, synthesis, and static timing analysis.
  • Place & Route flow, Design Rule Checking (DRC), and Layout Equivalence Check (LEC).
  • Memory design experience.
  • SPICE and Cadence Virtuoso / HSIM analog simulation tools.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
