Job Title

Semiconductor Design Engineer

Role Summary

Contribute to the design, layout, optimization, and verification of memory, logic, and analog circuits and support tape-outs and reticle experiments. Work across engineering, test, process integration, and product groups to ensure manufacturability and design quality.

Role may include part-time telecommuting and requires coordination with standards, CAD, modeling, and verification teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design support, physical implementation, and verification tasks:

  • Assist with design, layout, and optimization of memory, logic, and analog circuits.
  • Perform parasitic modeling and participate in design validation and reticle experiments; support tape-out revisions.
  • Oversee and manage layout activities including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
  • Perform verification using modeling and simulation with industry-standard simulators (timing, functional analysis, and debug).
  • Collaborate with marketing, probe, assembly, test, process integration, and product engineering groups to ensure manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with standards, CAD, modeling, and verification teams to improve design quality and drive future memory generation innovation.

Requirements

Key technical skills and must-have capabilities:

  • Combinational logic and finite state machine design.
  • VLSI design experience, including CMOS physical design and optimization techniques.
  • Analog circuit design skills.
  • Experience with HSPICE or Verilog-based simulation, including timing analysis, functional analysis, and simulation debug.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design schematic capture tools.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. "Related field" accepted as stated; no other degrees or equivalent-experience language is specified in the posting.
