Security IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's Security IP team to develop and verify security-focused IP and subsystems for SoC designs. The role focuses on verification planning, testbench development, coverage-driven verification, and collaboration with design and firmware teams.
Work includes verification of cryptography, key management, secure boot, and embedded processor subsystems. No relocation package is offered for this role.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of relevant design or verification experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification solutions and sign-off for Security IP and embedded processor subsystems.
- Define verification plans, test strategies, and coverage goals for security IP.
- Develop UVM/SystemVerilog/Verilog and C-based testbenches and tests.
- Implement and maintain functional coverage and verification metrics.
- Debug test failures, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with design and firmware teams.
- Contribute to verification methodology and tooling across the organization.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project management on schedules and deliverables.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years experience in design or verification of IP, embedded compute subsystems, or SoCs.
- Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Verification experience in security hardware areas: applied cryptography, secure boot, key management.
- Experience with complex digital IP: multi-clock domains, AXI/AHB protocols, multi-power domains, and reset architectures.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python, Tcl or similar).
- Experience with ARM-based designs and system architectures.
- Experience with firmware/hardware co-verification or formal verification is preferred.
- Low-level programming (C, assembler) and firmware debugging experience, including tarmac logging.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
