Job Title
Security IP Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and productize hardware security IP and security sub-systems for SoC platforms. Work with a cross-functional security IP team to define architectures and specifications, implement RTL, and support verification, power/performance sign-off, and product delivery.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Candidates should have demonstrated ownership and leadership in the design and productization of compute, multimedia, or security sub-systems; explicit years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities involve architecture, RTL development, verification support, and project contributions across the development lifecycle.
- Define architectures and write specifications for security IP and subsystems.
- Develop RTL, constraints, and perform bug fixes and design optimizations.
- Collaborate with verification and implementation teams to build test plans, drive verification closure, support debug, and achieve functional, power, and performance sign-off.
- Lead design exploration, optimization, and structural checks; ensure design quality and compliance with checks (CDC, RDC, X-Propagation, LINT).
- Mentor team members and contribute to project management, roadmaps, initiatives, and schedules.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools for the role; preferred items noted.
-
Must: Advanced Verilog RTL design experience and familiarity with EDA methodologies.
-
Must: Experience in security hardware, embedded processor systems, applied cryptography, secure boot, key management, and access control.
-
Must: SoC architecture experience (multi-clock domains, AXI/AHB protocols, multi-power domains, reset architectures).
-
Must: Competency with synthesis, timing analysis, constraints development, and ECO methodologies.
-
Must: Familiarity with design checks (CDC, RDC, X-Propagation, LINT) and power management techniques (UPF, power estimation, power optimization).
-
Must: Scripting experience (Perl, Python, TCL or similar).
-
Must: SystemVerilog and verification methodologies experience (UVM/OVM, Portable Stimulus, hardware/firmware co-verification).
-
Preferred: Familiarity with ARM-based designs and ARM System Architectures.
Education Requirements
Preferred: Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
