Security Hardware Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Integrate and validate hardware security IP into server SoCs and define hardware security architecture for large-scale data center compute, network, and control infrastructure. Work with architecture, design verification, physical design, firmware, and platform teams to deliver secure silicon for AI and cloud workloads.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in RTL development, SoC design, or hardware security integration.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on integrating security IP, implementing RTL and integration logic, validating integrations, and defining platform-level security architecture and mitigations.

• Integrate third-party and internal HW security IP (Root of Trust, crypto engines, HSMs, TRNG, key vaults) into the die and SoC fabric.
• Author RTL for security units, glue logic, fuse/OTP interfaces, and bus/fabric (AXI/AHB/NoC) connections.
• Manage clock, reset, and power domains and handle CDC concerns across security blocks.
• Develop integration test benches and run lint, CDC, and synthesis-readiness checks.
• Support design verification and validation of embedded security IP and integrations.
• Architect platform Root of Trust, secure boot, attestation, and confidential computing solutions across server fleets.
• Threat-model the stack (silicon, firmware, BMC, supply chain) and define HW mitigations for physical and side-channel attacks.
• Drive secure key management, debug-lockdown, fuse provisioning, and crypto offload for tenant isolation at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, DV, physical design, firmware, and platform teams throughout the development cycle.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful execution of the role.

• 5+ years of experience in RTL development, SoC design, or hardware security integration.
• Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL and IP integration.
• Experience with bus protocols (AXI, AHB, NoC) and integrating IP into complex fabrics.
• Familiar with lint, CDC analysis, synthesis-readiness checks, and design verification flows.
• Expertise in roots of trust, TEEs, secure boot/firmware, crypto IP, and side-channel mitigations.
• Strong debugging skills for hardware/firmware interactions and secure key management flows.

Education Requirements

B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
