RTL (NoC) Design - Staff
QualcommJob Title
RTL (NoC) Design - Staff
Role Summary
Lead NoC/interconnect RTL design within the BDC infrastructure core team. Own specification, micro-architecture and implementation of interconnect IPs and coordinate with SoC, verification, physical design, floorplanning and silicon validation teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff). The role expects experienced engineers with substantial SoC/IP design and micro-architecture background; the posting indicates ~8+ years of relevant IP/SoC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecture leadership, cross-team coordination and delivery of interconnect IPs for production SoC projects.
- Define specifications and micro-architecture for NoC/interconnect IPs.
- Lead RTL design, integration and implementation for interconnect blocks.
- Coordinate with SoC performance, verification, physical design, floorplan and silicon validation teams to meet performance and functional goals.
- Design and include debug hooks to aid silicon bring-up and root-cause analysis.
- Drive project milestones across design, verification and physical implementation phases.
- Manage dependencies, planning and tracking of front-end design tasks.
- Mentor and manage engineers; provide input to functional or departmental strategy.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution to NoC/interconnect RTL development.
- Extensive IP/SoC design and micro-architecture experience, with hands-on Verilog RTL coding and SoC design experience.
- Strong understanding of interconnect protocols and concepts: CHI, AHB, AXI, ACE, ACE-Lite and NoC architectures.
- Good knowledge of digital design and RTL development practices.
- Familiarity with multi-core ARMv8/v9 CPU architecture, coherency protocols and virtualization.
- Working knowledge of synthesis (Design Compiler/DCG), timing closure and physical implementation flow.
- Experience with verification methodologies, DFT, formal verification, silicon debug and related sign-off flows.
- Familiarity with static tools and checks: lint, CDC, PLDRC, CLP, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional projects and communicate effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders.
Education Requirements
Degree options listed: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field (with 4+ years hardware engineering experience); OR Master's in a related field (with 3+ years); OR PhD in a related field (with 2+ years). The posting also references general eligibility by equivalent work experience.
