RTL Design Sr Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Lead RTL design and architecture for complex digital SoC blocks. Collaborate with verification, synthesis, timing, and physical design teams to deliver silicon-ready RTL on schedule.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the ASIC digital design team.
Experience Level
Senior — Sr Staff level. Typically 7+ years of RTL/ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include specification, implementation, delivery, and technical leadership for RTL components.
- Architect and implement RTL (SystemVerilog) for complex digital blocks and interfaces.
- Define and enforce RTL coding guidelines, design specs, and interface contracts.
- Collaborate with verification, synthesis, STA, and physical design to meet timing, area, and power goals.
- Develop and maintain synthesis constraints, clock/reset schemes, and support timing closure.
- Debug pre-silicon and post-silicon issues; support bring-up and failure analysis.
- Mentor and review work of junior and mid-level engineers; lead technical design reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed where applicable.
- Must-have: Strong RTL coding in SystemVerilog and hands-on synthesis experience.
- Must-have: Practical experience with STA, timing closure workflows, and signoff criteria.
- Must-have: Experience integrating blocks at SoC level and collaborating with verification and physical design teams to deliver tape-outs.
- Must-have: Scripting skills for automation (Python, TCL) and working knowledge of common EDA flows.
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to UVM/system-level verification, low-power techniques, and multiple tape-out deliveries.
