RTL Design Senior Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Senior RTL designer on the Digital Design team within Synopsys IP Group, responsible for developing high-speed mixed-signal PHY IP from specification through tape-out. The role works closely with verification, analog design, and customer support teams across multiple Vietnam locations and globally.

Primary mission: produce production-quality, synthesizable RTL and micro-architecture specifications that meet protocol standards and survive post-silicon integration and bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior level (Sr/Staff). The posting expects approximately 5+ years of hands-on ASIC RTL design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Design and develop high-speed PHY IP RTL in SystemVerilog and Verilog from concept to tape-out.
• Author detailed micro-architecture specifications derived from protocol standards.
• Ensure design quality via linting, CDC analysis, synthesis constraints, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with verification engineers to debug RTL and gate-level simulations with SDF timing annotation.
• Provide technical support during SoC integration, post-silicon bring-up, and customer deployments.
• Participate in design reviews and mentor junior engineers on RTL best practices.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: 5+ years of hands-on ASIC RTL design experience (specification through tape-out).
• Must-have: Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog for complex digital designs.
• Must-have: Experience with scripting for design automation (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
• Must-have: Solid understanding of linting, CDC analysis, synthesis constraints, and design-for-quality practices.
• Must-have: Strong English communication skills for cross-functional and customer interactions.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with post-silicon debugging and customer support.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of high-speed serial protocols, DFT techniques, or UVM verification methodologies.
