RTL Design (Security) - Staff
Role Summary
Design and verify RTL and hardware solutions with a security focus as part of Qualcomm's Hardware Engineering team in Bangalore. Work across design, verification, validation, software and architecture teams to integrate features, improve yield and test flows, and deliver production-ready silicon.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferred experience is 5+ years in hardware engineering; minimum experience expectations are provided in Education Requirements.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the role include design, verification, bring-up, and collaboration to meet performance and quality targets.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test RTL-based electronic systems with a focus on security features.
- Integrate functionality into hardware designs to meet roadmap and performance requirements.
- Execute complex simulations and analyses to optimize power, performance, and area (PPA).
- Lead product bring-up, evaluate and characterize designs, and develop manufacturing/test solutions to meet yield and schedule targets.
- Develop and apply reliability and characterization methods; introduce automation and optimization to improve productivity.
- Identify design flaws, compatibility, or compliance issues and propose remediation.
- Produce detailed technical documentation and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
Requirements

- 3+ years of hardware engineering or related experience (senior candidates typically have 5+ years).
- Experience with RTL and circuit design (digital, analog, or RF) and associated design flows.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Experience using hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, RF tools).
- Proven ability to run complex simulations, analyze results, and implement PPA optimizations.
- Experience with product bring-up, yield improvement, and implementing manufacturing/test solutions.
- Prior technical leadership on projects or mentoring of engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
