Job Title
RTL Design & Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Member of AMD's FPGA product development team responsible for RTL design, IP integration, and delivery from concept through productization. Work spans RTL implementation, integration, verification support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve first-time-right silicon and software solutions.
Use modern RTL methodologies, EDA tools, and AI-driven automation to optimize performance, power, area (PPA), cost, and schedule.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Typical background: experienced RTL/VLSI engineer with practical product development experience—commonly 3–7 years.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with architects, hardware, and software/firmware teams to translate product requirements into RTL and integration plans.
- Develop early-stage RTL based on architectural intent to drive silicon and solution co-development.
- Integrate IP blocks and validate functional correctness across RTL and software stacks.
- Build and enhance AI-driven infrastructure and automation to accelerate IP integration and development timelines.
- Apply data-driven methods to align engineering teams across products and technology nodes.
- Support functional simulation, verification activities, and software quality checks to ensure robust coverage.
- Partner with global teams to achieve seamless integration, tapeout readiness, and delivery.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Expertise in RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Strong understanding of the VLSI design flow from RTL through physical design and GDSII.
- Familiarity with physical implementation processes: floorplanning, synthesis, place & route, and static timing analysis (STA).
- Experience with commercial EDA tools (examples: Synopsys Design Compiler, PrimeTime, VCS; Cadence tools).
- Proficiency with scripting for automation (Perl, Tcl, Python, Shell).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for distributed, cross‑functional teams.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with UVM/OVM and complex simulation/debug environments.
- Experience or knowledge of FPGA architecture and usage models.
- Experience building AI-driven tooling or automation for design and integration workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
