RTL Design (GPU) - Senior Lead
QualcommJob Title
RTL Design (GPU) - Senior Lead
Role Summary
Design and own RTL and micro-architecture for next-generation GPU features. Work cross-functionally with GPU architecture, systems, verification, and physical design teams to define hardware specifications and deliver silicon blocks that meet power, performance, and area targets.
Experience Level
Senior. See Education Requirements for explicit minimum years of hardware engineering experience tied to degree level.
Responsibilities
The role combines micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification collaboration, and physical-design tradeoffs for GPU blocks.
- Define micro-architecture and translate GPU architecture into RTL and hardware specifications.
- Implement, own, and maintain RTL for GPU features across product releases.
- Collaborate with architecture and systems teams to refine feature behavior and interfaces.
- Work with design verification to review test plans and validate feature correctness.
- Coordinate with physical design teams to achieve target power, performance, and area (PPA).
- Drive cross-functional reviews and sign-off for design features.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and behaviors for this role.
- Proven hardware engineering experience with RTL design and ownership for complex blocks.
- Experience in GPU micro-architecture or similar high-performance graphics/compute blocks.
- Track record collaborating with verification and physical-design teams to meet validation and PPA goals.
- Ability to write clear hardware specifications and drive cross-team implementation.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
One of the following: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's in a related field with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR PhD in a related field with 1+ year of hardware engineering experience.
