RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement CPU microarchitecture features and RTL for RISC-V based cores. Work on microarchitecture specification, RTL implementation, and collaborate with verification, performance modeling, and physical implementation teams to meet frequency, area, power, and performance targets.
Small, fast-paced engineering team focused on delivering high-quality processor IP to market.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Architect, design, and implement new features, ISA extensions, and performance improvements in RISC-V CPU core generators.
- Develop microarchitecture specifications and documentation to support collaborative design.
- Perform initial sandbox verification and collaborate with the design verification team to create and execute verification plans.
- Work with physical implementation team to implement and optimize for frequency, area, and power.
- Collaborate with performance modeling team for exploration and optimization to meet performance goals.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, working conditions, and other requirements:
- Academic or professional experience with CPU RTL design and microarchitecture.
- Proficiency with RTL languages: Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Familiarity with at least one object-oriented and/or functional programming language.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality designs.
- Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in engineering teams.
- Ability to pass background and reference checks and to provide proof of right to work in Taiwan.
- Offer contingent on verification of authorization for access to export-controlled technology or successful obtainment of necessary export approvals.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of RISC-V architecture.
- Experience with Scala and/or Chisel.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
