Role Summary

Work on front-end RTL design within AMD's Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group to develop processor and SoC blocks. Collaborate with architecture, IP, physical design, verification, and product engineering teams to achieve first-pass silicon success.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing RTL blocks, ensuring delivery quality, and improving team efficiency.

  • Own design and implementation of RTL blocks to meet functional, timing, area and power targets.
  • Drive first-pass silicon success through close collaboration with architecture, IP, and physical design teams.
  • Guide and review verification for blocks; work with verification teams to resolve issues.
  • Design and implement logic to support testability and debug.
  • Implement automation to increase front-end design team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong front-end RTL engineering background and experience in RTL coding and digital design.

  • Nice-to-have: Automation/scripting skills (Perl, Python, Tcl) to support design and flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with timing constraints/exceptions, static checks (LINT, CDC), and multi-power-domain design including UPF.
