RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

The RTL Design Engineer will design and implement microarchitecture and RTL for Mythic's next-generation AI processors. The role works with architecture, verification, emulation, synthesis, and physical design teams to deliver high-performance, low-power logic that meets aggressive PPA goals and integrates into the full system.

Experience Level

Mid-level (3+ years industry experience). The team hires across junior to senior levels, but this posting expects demonstrated RTL design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement RTL for AI processor components, including datapaths, controllers, memory subsystems, and interconnects.
• Collaborate with architects and verification engineers to define microarchitecture and ensure functional correctness.
• Optimize designs for performance, power, and area and drive timing closure with synthesis and physical design teams.
• Participate in design reviews and improve RTL coding practices and methodologies.
• Use simulation, synthesis, linting, and static timing analysis tools to validate and deliver designs.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 3+ years of industry experience in RTL design, microarchitecture, or architecture development.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture fundamentals (pipelines, caches, coherence, memory hierarchies).
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and industry-standard RTL coding guidelines.
• Familiarity with timing constraints, physical design considerations, and EDA flows.
• Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, linting, and static timing analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with AI accelerators, low-power design, or custom analog/mixed-signal IP.
• Experience driving timing closure and working closely with physical design teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
