RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a Member of Technical Staff in AMD's Silicon IP Solutions & SoC group, you will lead RTL IP architecture, implementation and productization for programmable-logic-based silicon designs. The role spans u-architecture definition, RTL design, integration, validation and ASICization.
You will lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver complex IP solutions across market segments.
Experience Level
Senior level — minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define u-architecture from architecture specifications and translate into RTL implementation plans.
- Perform RTL design, IP integration, documentation and technical reviews throughout the product cycle.
- Lead cross-functional IP teams from front-end development through productization and ASICization.
- Develop and review implementation and verification plans; participate in architecture and implementation reviews.
- Work with stakeholders to develop comprehensive test plans including compliance and interoperability testing.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide regular technical updates to the management chain.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in silicon IP development and RTL design.
- Strong Verilog RTL design experience and familiarity with VCS simulation tools.
- Experience with design-for-test (DFT) methodologies and silicon tapeout flow.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Shell) for automation and validation tasks.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across distributed teams; strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience creating and reviewing verification plans and implementation reviews.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with PCIe, full-featured DMA, NVMe storage IP, Ethernet, TCP/IP, or RDMA IPs.
- Prior work on programmable-logic-based silicon designs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required; a master’s degree or equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience.
