Role Summary
Lead technical delivery and architecture for RTL and related hardware design within ASIC/SoC programs. Own design quality, verification/validation approach, and production bring-up while coordinating across design, verification, validation, software, and architecture teams.
Experience Level
Senior level. Typical experience: 8+ years in hardware engineering (see Education Requirements for degree-linked guidance); preferred candidates may have 15+ years and prior technical leadership experience.
Responsibilities
The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership and cross-functional coordination. Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test critical electronic systems and RTL for ASIC/SoC projects.
- Define and drive design rules, processes, and best practices for hardware and integrated circuitry.
- Perform complex simulations and analyses to meet power, performance, and area objectives.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, and architecture teams to implement requirements and test solutions that improve yield and quality.
- Lead product bring-up, characterize manufacturing and process solutions, and drive yield/test-time improvements.
- Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques and introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Advise and mentor multiple engineering teams; review and produce detailed technical documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Extensive hardware engineering experience, including circuit/logic design and validation at a senior level.
- Practical experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Hands-on use of hardware design and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
- Experience in manufacturing bring-up, yield improvement, and reliability evaluation for advanced processes.
- Proven technical leadership, including supervising direct reports and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience making high-impact technical decisions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
