RTL Design (Audio) - Sr Lead
Role Summary
Senior lead responsible for RTL and hardware design, optimization, verification and bring-up of audio subsystems. Works within the Hardware Engineering group in Bangalore and collaborates with design, verification, validation, software, systems and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready silicon.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting indicates experienced candidates (preferred 5+ years in hardware engineering) and at least 1+ year of technical leadership experience for lead responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Plan, design, optimize, verify and test RTL and related hardware (including FPGA and DSP systems) for audio subsystems.
- Integrate features into hardware designs and implement solutions that meet power, performance and area targets.
- Perform complex simulations and analyses and develop/execute test and bring-up activities to meet schedules and quality targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, verification, validation, software, systems, architecture, manufacturing) to implement requirements and improve yield and test time.
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing and reliability solutions; introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Identify design compatibility or compliance issues and produce detailed technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
Requirements
Technical skills and practical experience required or strongly preferred.
- Proven hardware engineering experience with RTL and subsystem design for audio or related domains.
- Experience with circuit design (digital, analog, RF) and performing simulations and analyses (preferred experience indicated).
- Experience using schematic capture and circuit simulation software (preferred).
- Practical experience with hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools) (preferred).
- Familiarity with FPGA, DSP, bring-up, yield improvement and production test systems.
- Experience evaluating reliability of materials/techniques and implementing automation/optimization.
- Technical leadership experience and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence across teams.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR PhD in those fields with 1+ year of hardware engineering experience. Preferred: Master's degree.
