Job Title

RISC-V CPU Design Verification (Multiple Levels)

Role Summary

Verification engineer role focused on functional and power-aware verification of high-performance, low-power RISC-V CPU cores and related SoC features. The role sits within the Hardware Engineering organization in Bangalore and collaborates with architects, RTL designers, software teams, emulation and silicon validation groups.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting targets multiple levels; typical experience expectation is mid-career (3–7 years). Example minimums listed in the posting include 4+ years for a Bachelor's degree route.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and executing verification activities for CPU units and system features.

  • Develop and execute verification plans for CPU units and features.
  • Implement and run assembly and C tests to validate CPU architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Build testbench components: checkers, assertions, stimulus generators, monitors.
  • Use simulation, emulation, FPGA and formal techniques to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, software and SoC teams to validate system use cases.
  • Debug and triage failures across simulation, emulation and silicon.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • Hands-on verification experience of CPU designs and microarchitecture.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages for test and infrastructure development.
  • Experience with HDLs such as Verilog / SystemVerilog and testbench methodologies.
  • Experience enabling verification on emulators and FPGA platforms.
  • Experience verifying power-management features (clock gating, power gating, DVFS/DCVS, reliability/throttling).
  • Strong debug skills for simulation, emulation and post-silicon failure analysis.
  • Good understanding of CPU architectures and microarchitecture concepts.
  • Nice-to-have: formal verification and assertions, DFT and structural debug (JTAG, MBIST, IEEE1500), scan/memory dump experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BE/BTech) in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years' experience; OR PhD in a related field with 2+ years' experience. The posting allows equivalent related work experience in lieu of the stated degree-based pathways.
