RFSOI MOSFET Compact Modeling Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and validate compact (SPICE) models for RF SOI and bulk MOSFET technologies to support Process Design Kits (PDKs) and customer design enablement. Work with cross-functional teams in process integration, device engineering, characterization, and design enablement.
Role is based in Bangalore with an in-office requirement of at least three days per week.
Experience Level
Mid-level — minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor device modeling, characterization, or related research.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include model development, validation, and enabling customer designs.
- Develop, extract, calibrate, and validate compact SPICE models for bulk and SOI MOSFETs.
- Maintain and support PDK compact models for customer design flows.
- Analyze and interpret device characterization and electrical measurement data.
- Develop and optimize extraction methodologies, workflows, and automation for model generation.
- Perform high‑frequency/RF characterization and correlate models against silicon measurements.
- Produce technical documentation and model release collateral.
- Participate in root-cause analysis for model-related customer and internal issues.
- Support EHS, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives; mentor and share knowledge within the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities; preferred items listed separately.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics focused on MOSFET operation and compact modeling.
- Knowledge of bulk MOSFET and SOI MOSFET technologies, including PD, FD, and Dynamic Depleted SOI concepts.
- Familiarity with compact model extraction methodologies, characterization techniques, and relevant test structures.
- Experience with data analysis, model validation, and correlating models to silicon measurements.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Experience with BSIM family compact models.
- Hands-on semiconductor process development and electrical/device characterization experience.
- Knowledge of RF characterization and MOSFET RF modeling.
- Programming experience in Python and experience with Keysight IC-CAP or similar tools.
Education Requirements
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a closely related field is required. The role also requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in device modeling, characterization, or related research.
