RFIC Digital Verification Senior Engineer
QualcommJob Title
RFIC Digital Verification Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Senior digital verification engineer responsible for verifying IPs, ASICs, and chipsets used in Snapdragon mobile/6G platforms, with emphasis on RFIC/PMIC/Codec and mixed-signal designs.
Work is within Qualcomm's hardware engineering organization and focuses on block/subsystem/SoC verification at RTL and gate levels using constrained-random methodologies and industry-standard verification frameworks.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 3+ years of relevant hardware or digital verification experience (posting lists 2+β3+ years depending on degree).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities for digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Develop and execute block/subsystem/SoC-level verification plans using constrained-random methodologies.
- Create and maintain verification testbenches and test plans at RTL and gate level.
- Implement SV/UVM/UVM_RAL testbenches, randomization, functional and code coverage, and SVA assertions.
- Debug RTL and gate-level simulations and analyze coverage gaps.
- Mentor or review work of junior engineers and participate in verification architecture planning.
- Lead or contribute to chip-level design verification (DV) efforts and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Use scripting (Perl, Python, Tcl) to automate flows and analysis.
- Perform power-aware (UPF) verification and silicon debug when applicable.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Proven experience in block/subsystem/SoC digital verification at RTL and gate levels.
- Practical experience with SystemVerilog, UVM (including UVM_RAL), randomization, and assertions (SVA).
- Strong experience with functional and code coverage-driven verification.
- Testbench development and writing verification test plans independently.
- RTL and gate-level debugging skills and familiarity with simulation flows.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Tcl) to automate verification and analysis.
- Experience leading verification efforts or coordinating chip DV activities.
Nice-to-have:
- Power-aware (UPF) verification and debug experience.
- Silicon bring-up and silicon debug experience.
- Mixed-signal/DSP design verification experience and MATLAB/Octave modeling skills.
Education Requirements
Posting lists formal degrees: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related engineering fields (with 2β3+ years experience); Master's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, VLSI or related field (with reduced years requirement); and PhD in relevant fields. The listing also implies equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
