RFIC Digital Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
RFIC Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on digital verification for mixed-signal ASICs that support Qualcomm QCT mobile platforms. The role is part of the Hardware Engineering team in Bangalore and focuses on RTL and gate-level verification to ensure functional correctness and coverage closure for RFIC/PMIC/codec designs.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career — typically 1 to 3 years of ASIC design, verification, or related engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include planning and executing digital verification at block, subsystem, and SoC level and maintaining verification infrastructure.
- Develop and execute constrained-random verification at RTL and gate level.
- Design, implement, and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches including UVM_RAL and SVA assertions.
- Create and own verification/test plans; review testplans and testbench architecture.
- Perform functional and code coverage analysis; identify and close coverage gaps.
- Debug RTL and gate-level simulations and participate in silicon debug and bring-up activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers on verification tasks.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required and preferred for the role.
- Must-have: 1–3 years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
- Must-have: Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies, including constrained-random verification, UVM_RAL, randomization, functional coverage, and SVA.
- Must-have: Experience with RTL and gate-level simulation and debugging; familiarity with functional and code coverage workflows.
- Nice-to-have: Experience writing verification architecture, leading chip DV efforts, and reviewing testbench/testplans.
- Nice-to-have: Power-aware (UPF) verification and silicon debug experience.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with mixed-signal designs involving DSP and modeling in MATLAB/Octave.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, Tcl, Perl) for testbench automation and tooling.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics, or a related engineering field. Preferred: Master’s degree (e.g., M.S./M.Tech) in VLSI, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering. The role typically expects 1–3 years of relevant ASIC design/verification experience.
