Job Title

RF Test Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

Hands-on lab engineer responsible for designing, building, and commissioning room-temperature and cryogenic RF measurement infrastructure to validate high-density quantum processors. Work directly with R&D to scale test capacity and remove characterization bottlenecks.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of experience in test, validation, or characterization of hardware.

Responsibilities

Execute and scale measurement systems and test campaigns to validate device performance and provide actionable feedback to the R&D team.

  • Plan and run RF and DC test campaigns; verify devices against specifications.
  • Bring up, install, operate, and maintain room-temperature and cryogenic measurement setups.
  • Design and implement automated switching matrices and high-throughput signal routing to increase test throughput.
  • Diagnose test failures, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to device and process teams.
  • Document setups, procedures, and measurement results to build a reusable knowledge base.
  • Own validation end-to-end: sample integration, execution, analysis, reporting, and recommendations.
  • Lead improvements to test repeatability, measurement standards, and validation scalability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; followed by desirable (bonus) skills.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of experience in test, validation, or characterization of deep‑tech or low‑volume hardware.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with RF and/or DC measurement and instrumentation (e.g., VNAs, SMUs).
  • Must-have: Experience with high-density interconnects, switching matrices, and evaluating RF link budgets (insertion loss, return loss, crosstalk).
  • Must-have: Proficiency in Python for control, measurement automation, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Must-have: Practical lab skills for setting up experiments, integrating samples, and performing debugging.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with cryogenic systems such as dilution refrigerators.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to microwave and transport characterization of superconducting circuits (Tc/Ic, residual resistance, resonator Qi/Qc via VNA).

Education Requirements

Master's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a closely related technical field.
