RF Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
Join the High Performance Analog Product Development team to develop automated RF test solutions for semiconductor products targeting Aerospace and Defense markets. You will architect and debug the complete test stack including RF hardware (load boards, fixtures, contactors, switching) and automation software for instrument control, and produce test plans, calibration methods, and production documentation.
Experience Level
Professional β approximately 2+ years of hands-on experience in RF test development or RF measurements is expected.
Responsibilities
The role owns test solution development from lab validation through production release and long-term support.
- Develop, validate, and release automated RF semiconductor test solutions using VNAs, signal generators, power sensors, SMUs, and related instrumentation.
- Define RF and DC measurement methodologies to ensure accurate, repeatable, and efficient production testing.
- Design and support RF test hardware, including load boards, fixtures, test sockets, and interface cabling.
- Perform measurement system analysis (GRR/ANOVA) to qualify production test capability.
- Create and maintain test plans, calibration procedures, and production documentation.
- Analyze large data sets to troubleshoot measurement issues, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
- Support correlation between production (socketed) and design bench (soldered) performance.
- Partner with Design, Product, and Manufacturing teams to develop and release robust test solutions.
- Travel domestically less than 10%.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, security and work-authorization requirements, and practical experience needed to perform the role.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in RF test development or RF measurements.
- Strong understanding of RF and DC measurement fundamentals.
- Experience designing or troubleshooting RF test hardware (PCBs, connectors, RF signal paths).
- Experience controlling instrumentation via SCPI, LAN, GPIB, or USB.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and device datasheets.
- Proven problem-solving skills and track record of driving issues to closure.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; the company will not sponsor visas for this position.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience modifying code in C#, Python, or another programming language.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
