RF Product Test Engineer
Role Summary
Work on hardware verification, characterization, and production test for RF products. The role plans, designs, verifies, and tests electronic systems and supports product bring-up and manufacturing solutions.
Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, and production teams to improve yield, test time, and product quality.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience ranges from 2+ years of hardware engineering experience; preferred candidates may have 3+ years or more.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include designing, verifying, testing, and supporting hardware and production test processes.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, including digital/analog/RF/optical systems, FPGA, DSP, and test systems.
- Integrate features into hardware designs and conduct simulations and analyses to meet power, performance, and area targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement requirements and incorporate test solutions into production programs.
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions to meet schedules and customer expectations.
- Characterize reliability of materials and processes; introduce automation and optimization to improve productivity.
- Assess complex design features for flaws, compatibility, and compliance issues.
- Write detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Minimum ~2 years of hardware engineering or related experience (stronger candidates with 3+ years preferred).
- Experience with circuit design (digital, analog and RF).
- Proficiency with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Experience using hardware measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF tools.
- Ability to evaluate and improve manufacturing/test processes and to support product bring-up.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate across design, verification, validation, software, and manufacturing teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field (typically with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience); OR Master's degree in the same fields (typically with 1+ year of hardware engineering experience); OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field. Preferred: Master's degree and advanced experience.
