Role Summary

Onsite summer internship supporting silicon validation for new memory-related products including DDR5 and DDR6 data buffers. The intern will perform lab measurements, execute validation plans, debug silicon with engineering teams, and help build automation to improve test throughput.

Experience Level

Entry-level - internship for students. Intended for current undergraduates or graduate students who have not graduated before fall 2027.

Responsibilities

Work under engineering guidance to validate new silicon and improve validation processes.

• Create and execute validation plans and perform electrical characterization for new silicon (including DDR5/DDR6 data buffers).
• Operate lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, BERT, DTG, power supplies, multimeters) to collect measurements.
• Partner with Design, Test, and Marketing to interpret requirements and refine validation strategies.
• Participate in silicon debug to identify root causes and implement corrective actions with engineers.
• Prepare test documentation, results, and engineering reports.
• Develop and optimize Python-based automated test frameworks and validation scripts.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and internship availability.

• Available full time for the summer internship period.
• Strong foundation in digital and analog circuit design, semiconductor device fundamentals, and programming.
• Familiarity with lab measurement techniques and instrumentation used in silicon validation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, BERT/DTG).
• Proficiency in Python for test automation, data analysis, and scripting.
• Hands-on experience automating lab instruments with Python (programmable power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to diagnose technical issues.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new validation methods and tools.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Must not have graduated before fall 2027. Enrollment and availability for a full-time summer internship are required.
