RF Product Engineer
Role Summary
The RF Product Engineer is responsible for characterization, verification, and production release of RF transceiver integrated circuits within the advanced data converters group. The role works in a small cross-functional team (analog, digital, mixed-signal CMOS, algorithms, and software) to validate silicon, firmware, and system performance.
Experience Level
Mid-level β approximately 3+ years of experience in the wireless transceiver or telecommunications industry.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include silicon characterization, test automation, lab evaluation, and driving products to production release.
- Characterize pre-release silicon across analog, digital, and firmware algorithm domains.
- Develop verification and characterization test plans and implement automation software for data collection.
- Perform lab analysis and evaluation; identify and resolve functional and parametric issues.
- Develop, operate, and maintain an RF-centric characterization bench and associated test equipment.
- Collaborate with design, systems, software, and applications engineering to gather release data and support datasheet generation.
- Take silicon and embedded software from early development stages to full production release.
- Engage with field sales, applications teams, and customers to resolve product issues; may participate in customer visits.
- Travel as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and competencies.
- Hands-on experience with RF measurements and signal processing.
- Strong debugging skills for complex RF and transceiver system issues.
- Familiarity with embedded software and verification practices.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting; preferred: LabVIEW, C#, Python, TestStand.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in small, multidisciplinary teams and deliver product releases.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is specified as the minimum degree.
