RF/MW Principal Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Work with customers and sales to define and solve RF/microwave (RF/MW) circuit and system design challenges using Cadence AWR tools. Provide product demonstrations, technical support, and training to enable customer success and gather product feedback for R&D.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 5+ years of experience in RF/MW circuit design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities involve customer-facing technical support, demonstrations, and collaboration with internal teams.
- Deliver technical guidance and training on Cadence AWR Design Environment to customers and prospects.
- Perform technical evaluations, benchmarks, and product demonstrations.
- Consult with customers to capture requirements and communicate feedback to product and R&D teams.
- Plan and manage customer engagements and provide account status updates to sales managers.
- Partner with R&D to prioritize product improvements and validate solutions.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activity; produce visit and technical reports.
- Present technical material at company and industry events (occasional).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities for successful performance in this role.
- Experience in RF/MW circuit design (amplifiers, mixers, filters) and communication systems.
- Proven use of Cadence AWR or other EDA tools for RF/MW design.
- Experience with electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools and methodologies.
- Ability to anticipate technical challenges and develop practical solutions; capable of technical leadership across customer engagements.
- Effective verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical audiences; proficiency in English and German.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Nice-to-have:
- MMIC or RFIC experience.
- Familiarity with Linux and Python.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent practical experience; the posting allows equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
