Job Title

RF Design Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship within Qorvo's Advanced Cellular design team to support RF and analog design activities. The intern will contribute to circuit and module design work, run simulations, and assist with lab measurements to validate designs for power amplifiers, LNAs, switches, filters, and RF modules.

This is a hands-on, team-based role intended to build technical skills and deliver measurable contributions to product designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Student-level position; no prior professional experience required beyond relevant coursework and lab exposure.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for this internship include:

  • Contribute to the design of functional blocks (power amplifiers, LNAs, switches, acoustic filters) and RF modules.
  • Balance performance goals with constraints on size, cost, footprint, and schedule.
  • Develop increasingly complex designs to meet customer requirements (LTE, carrier aggregation, multiple antennas, filters, power management).
  • Address ruggedness, ESD, and quality requirements as designs evolve.
  • Produce schematics and simulation work and compare with real lab measurements.
  • Use signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to validate simulated results against lab data.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills the role requires or benefits from:

  • Must-have: Completed analog/RF circuit design coursework; minimum GPA of 3.0; strong collaboration, communication, organization, and attention to detail; self-starter attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to RF measurement equipment (spectrum and network analyzers); familiarity with simulation and layout tools such as ADS, AWR, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Cadence, Dynamic Link; scripting or programming experience (Python).

Education Requirements

Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program is required. Preferred field: Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. Relevant analog/RF coursework required; minimum GPA 3.0.
