Research Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship role within Qorvo's High Performance Analog research engineering organization. Work will support semiconductor materials, devices, and heterogeneous microelectronics assembly process development and characterization.

Specific projects and tasks are assigned based on business needs and internship length.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship) β€” intended for current college students and graduate students participating in an academic internship program.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities during the internship may include:

  • Assist hands-on development of semiconductor materials, devices, and heterogeneous assembly processes.
  • Perform device and materials characterization, testing, measurements, and correlation of results.
  • Support failure analysis activities.
  • Generate, analyze, and summarize experimental data.
  • Document work and present results to project team members and stakeholders.

  • Hands-on process development experience and strong practical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to interpret test and measurement data.
  • Effective written and oral communication; able to document and present technical results.
  • Self-starter who collaborates well in teams and is willing to work outside their comfort zone.
  • Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with semiconductor device and wafer-level processes.
  • Experience with electrical/thermal/mechanical design and modeling.
  • Knowledge of advanced materials or analysis tools (FIB/SEM/SAM/IR/XRAY).
  • Experience with statistical or data analysis tools (Spotfire, Minitab, Excel, etc.).

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science/Material Sciences Engineering, or a closely related technical field (internship enrollment required).
