Job Title

Remote FPGA Engineer — Space Communications & DSP

Role Summary

Design, implement, and test high-speed FPGA blocks for antenna systems and real-time data processing. Work hands-on with Verilog/SystemVerilog, DSP, and networking on FPGA to deliver reliable space communication links.

Position is part of a cross-disciplinary engineering team and requires collaboration with RF, systems, firmware, and test engineers. The role offers a flexible remote/onsite mix and occasional travel.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement high-speed FPGA RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for antenna and communication subsystems.
  • Implement and optimize DSP algorithms for real-time processing on FPGA.
  • Develop and integrate networking/communication interfaces on FPGA.
  • Create verification tests, perform hardware bring-up, and debug on-target systems.
  • Collaborate with RF, systems, firmware, and test teams to deliver production-ready communication links.
  • Document designs, test plans, and results; support product releases and sustainment.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proven FPGA development experience using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience implementing DSP algorithms on FPGAs for real-time applications.
  • Experience with networking or communication protocols on FPGA.
  • Practical experience with hardware bring-up, verification, and debugging.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and travel occasionally.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with antenna systems or RF integration.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
