Regional System Application Engineer

Role Summary

Drive system-level engagement and application excellence for Nexperia's wide-bandgap power semiconductor products across the region. Act as the technical interface between customers, R&D, and commercial teams to deliver application-driven solutions that enable design wins and support revenue growth.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role typically requires about 5 years of experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry with prior customer-facing application engineering or system-design experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver application support, reference designs, and technical engagement to accelerate customer design-in and product adoption.

• Own system-level engagement across the region including ecosystem mapping (customers, design houses, partners, suppliers).
• Develop and deliver application-focused engineering solutions to support customer design-in and demand creation.
• Create reference designs, demo solutions, and application collateral to demonstrate product performance.
• Provide deep application support including subsystem design, debug, and optimisation.
• Translate customer challenges and application requirements into product and roadmap inputs.
• Support technical marketing: application notes, technical papers, training, and webinars.
• Support new product introductions (NPI) and Market Focus Programs; deliver on-site customer support and troubleshooting.
• Monitor industry and application trends to inform new product ideas and collaborate with global R&D, FAE, sales, and marketing teams.

• Must-have: ~5 years' experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry; experience in application engineering, system design, or product support.
• Must-have: Strong background in semiconductor devices, power electronics, or electrical engineering and a deep understanding of electronic systems from application to device level.
• Must-have: Practical experience with lab equipment and design tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analysers, OrCAD, Altium).
• Must-have: Ability to develop reference designs and application-level solutions; strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• Must-have: Strong customer focus, excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience in customer-facing technical roles.
• Nice-to-have: Experience influencing technical decisions across stakeholders, working in global/multicultural teams, and contributing to technical marketing or NPI programs.
• Nice-to-have: Proven track record delivering on-site customer support, troubleshooting complex subsystems, and producing application collateral.

Education Requirements

Degree or equivalent: Master’s or above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience (the posting states "Degree or equivelent (Master’s or above) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field").
