Regional Development Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide high-level applications support and technical development for overlay measurement systems within KLA's Global Products Group and Central Engineering. Partner with engineering, sales, and customer teams to demonstrate tool performance, develop measurement recipes, and enable product adoption and ramp.
Experience Level
Entry-level — suitable for candidates with approximately 0–1 years of relevant experience; Master's or PhD preferred but Bachelor's with relevant experience is noted.
Responsibilities
Main duties include customer-facing demonstrations, experimental characterization, and application development to support sales and product ramp.
- Manage in-house and on-site customer demonstrations and head-to-head comparisons.
- Design experiments and test plans to characterize tool and subcomponent performance.
- Develop recipes and models for complex optical applications to optimize tool performance.
- Support alpha/beta testing and pilot tool ramps; provide escalation and troubleshooting for field service teams.
- Collect and analyze data; publish application notes and best-known methods; develop training materials.
- Collaborate with systems and algorithms teams to develop offline analysis tools and new features.
- Frequent worldwide travel (approximately 70%).
Requirements

- Proficiency in English.
- Experience with data-analysis tools; MATLAB or Python is a plus.

Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Physics or related engineering fields (optics, materials science, microelectronics). The posting also indicates a Bachelor's degree may be acceptable with relevant experience (Bachelor's with ~1 year noted). Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
