Role Summary
The Regional Development Applications Engineer will characterize new eBeam systems and features, drive product adoption at customer fabs, and provide technical support for process optimization. The role is customer-facing and works across product, marketing, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that improve semiconductor manufacturing yield and throughput.

Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities for this role:
- Design and execute experiments to characterize systems and features; collect and analyze data.
- Document results and recommendations in application notes, best-known methods, and characterization studies.
- Support product penetration and adoption at customer fabs; optimize customer processes using KLA equipment.
- Provide customer training, demonstrations, and final acceptance support for installed systems.
- Investigate and resolve customer technical issues; drive escalation when required.
- Support pre-sale and post-sale technical activities and communicate development and application findings to Marketing and product teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain awareness of competitive solutions and performance metrics.
- Travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice; trips can be multiple weeks in duration.

- Proven ability to design experiments, analyze measurement data, and produce clear technical documentation.
- Customer-facing experience with strong communication and training skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production process issues in a fab environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% on short notice, including extended on-site visits.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work across engineering, product, and customer teams.
- Preferred: experience in semiconductor processing or with semiconductor equipment and metrology/inspection tools.
Education Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
