Regional Development Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide applications support for complex overlay measurement systems across product development and customer engagements. Work with internal engineering, sales, and algorithm teams and with customer engineers to demonstrate tools, characterize performance, develop recipes and analysis methods, and support pilot and ramp activities.

Responsibilities
Accountable for customer-facing demonstrations, experimental characterization, and enabling product adoption at customer sites.
- Manage in-house and on-site customer demonstrations and head-to-head evaluations to showcase tool performance and generate use cases.
- Design experiments and test plans to characterize tool and subcomponent performance; collect, analyze, and summarize data.
- Develop recipes and models for complex optical/overlay measurement applications to optimize tool performance.
- Provide escalation and troubleshooting support to field service engineers, coordinating remote and local resolution efforts.
- Support alpha/beta/pilot tool activities during customer ramp phases to enable product adoption.
- Document results as application notes, best-known methods, and training materials; transfer knowledge to worldwide apps teams.
- Collaborate with system and algorithm teams to develop offline analysis tools and new features.
Requirements

- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in a technical environment.
- Experience with semiconductor process control, metrology, or optical measurement methods (overlay measurement experience preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to work effectively across cultures and with customers.
- Self-driven, able to work independently and also collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to design experiments, handle data analysis, and produce clear technical recommendations.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Matlab or Python and experience developing offline analysis tools or algorithms.
Education Requirements
Candidate should hold an advanced technical degree: PhD or MS in Physics or related engineering fields such as optics, materials science, or microelectronics. Minimum qualifications listed: PhD with 0 years related experience; Master's plus ~3 years related experience; Bachelor's plus ~5 years related experience.
