R&D RTL Development Intern

Role Summary

The R&D RTL Development Intern will join the Research & Development team in Cairo to design, implement, and verify RTL/HDL modules for Siemens Digital Industries Software. This is a 2-month summer internship (July–August 2026) with mentorship and defined projects that deliver usable results.

Work is hybrid from the Cairo office; the intern will collaborate with engineers, contribute to RTL development and testbench creation, and assist in debugging and optimization activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level — internship (student position).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL/HDL module development, verification, and collaboration with the development team.

  • Implement modular HDL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) modules and interfaces.
  • Design and implement new RTL features and modules.
  • Develop testbench environments to verify implemented modules.
  • Participate in debugging, simulation, and performance/area optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate modules and maintain code quality.
  • Stay current with industry practices relevant to Verilog, SystemVerilog, and DPI usage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the internship; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog; strong understanding of digital/RTL design basics.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with Linux fundamentals.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with scripting languages (Shell/Perl, Python, TCL).
  • Nice-to-have: Basic knowledge of prototyping or emulation.
  • Team-oriented with good communication and presentation skills.

Education Requirements

3rd or 4th year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's in progress). The role is a summer internship (July–August 2026). No additional certifications or equivalent-experience language specified.
